Record rider payments automatically from your bank alerts
Forward your bank’s credit alerts to Bamsell once. Every transfer from a rider is read, matched and counted – once.
- Money → Bank alerts → Set up: copy your Bamsell address.
- Gmail → Settings → Forwarding → add it, then tap Confirm in Bamsell.
- Make a Gmail filter for your bank’s alerts → Forward it to that address.
- Unknown senders wait in “Needs you” – pick the rider once.
-
1Turn on email alerts at your bank
In your bank app, make sure credit alerts are emailed to you. Most banks do this already. Alerts from more than one bank, or going to more than one Gmail? That’s fine – do the Gmail steps below in each Gmail; they all use the same Bamsell address.
-
2Copy your Bamsell address
Go to Money → Bank alerts → Set up and tap Copy next to your private address (it starts with alerts-). Keep it private.
-
3Add it in Gmail
On a computer open Gmail → ⚙ See all settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP → Add a forwarding address → paste → Next → Proceed. Back in Bamsell, the page shows Confirm forwarding by itself – tap it and confirm on Google’s page. You don’t need to look for Google’s email.
-
4Forward only your bank alerts
Copy the search Bamsell gives you, paste it in Gmail’s search box and press Enter. Click the filter icon at the right of the search box → Create filter → tick Forward it to → choose your Bamsell address → Create filter. Only bank emails are sent; everything else stays private in your Gmail.

5Watch payments arrive
The set-up page ticks First alert when the next transfer comes in. Transfers from names saved on a rider are recorded straight away. Others wait under Needs you: pick the rider and tick Always this rider so it’s automatic next time.
-
6Safe by design
Bamsell only records a payment by itself when the email carries your bank’s own digital signature. An email forwarded by hand, or one that might have been changed, waits for you to check it in your bank app.
-
7Not using Gmail?
Outlook, Yahoo and most other email apps can forward too: make a rule for emails from your bank’s alert address and forward them to your Bamsell address. They wait under Needs you until you check the first few.
-
8Late payments
Money is counted against the oldest month the rider still owes, so an October balance paid in November clears October first. Made a mistake? Tap Undo.
